Bridie, the Base Camp Manager, called our house at 6:30 am EST. Doug and Francisco have arrived in Camp II where they will spend the night. They are out of the danger zone. They will be at Base Camp tomorrow. Willie stayed behind to help a climber from another team who had an arm and leg problem -- she's not sure of that climber's present condition. And Willie was still helping a snow blind climber from another team back down to Camp II as she was calling. Doug has lost his big toe nails in the descent -- but that's happened before when he was skiing. He's looking forward to meeting his Dad in Katmandu in a few days.
